dotart.blog is a sister site to mastodon.art owned and managed by Curator/WelshPixie. It is intended as an extension to the mastodon.art community for those members who wish to post longer works of writing, whether that's poetry, stories, or blogs about things like worldbuilding or the creative process.
This instance runs WriteFreely, and not Mastodon – whereas Mastodon is a microblogging platform, WriteFreely is more like WordPress in that it's for longer form writing; poetry, stories, blog posts, etc. will all be very welcome here.
WriteFreely uses markdown for formatting, can support images, you can skin your blog with CSS, and it has cool features like draft posts, scheduled posts, pinned posts that show up as navigation links at the top of your blog (like an About page), excerpts, and RSS feeds (see the full list here ).

After creating your account, you can copy your blog URL and paste it into your mastodon.art search box to find it from inside Mastodon, and follow your account. You can include your dotart.blog link in your bio on dotArt, and can boost your dotart.blog blog posts from your mastodon.art account.
Blogs are set to unlisted by default. You can change this in your blogs page by clicking on Customize.
