Sweating Out

Lori's monologue that questions her morning workout session at the gym.

A morning workout session before class always brings me motivation... To overthink about how to make the most of my monthly gym membership. Before going to this indoor fitness training ground, I have to prepare everything from warming up to taking breaks between my daily routines.

How can I put a perfect warm-up routine into practice? Should I go ballistic, static, or dynamic when I am stretching? Can I reach these arms and sides with ease? Can I rotate my hips like what Shakira described in one of her iconic songs? Can I lift these knees without losing my balance? Can I do lateral lunges and squats without doubts about the male gaze? Can I plank before walking out of the gym? Can I just do simple jumping jacks instead?

Um... Screw this... Give me a water break for just a moment!

Now here goes my ideal workout playlist. There are a lot of streamable song choices to consider. Should I start with the following: a prodigal British firestarter, a multigenre banger in Finnish with a piƱa colada somewhere, or whatever song (preferably from an obscure country) that has been slept on for so long? Nevermind... I can just put my playlist on shuffle mode.

How can I work on my weekly workout routine? Should I use the whole human body for strenuous activities? Should I focus on the upper or lower body? What about cardio? Do I need any dedicated gym equipment for some exercises? Can I even call a personal trainer to coach me throughout the session?

No... Relax, Lori. I must stop sweating out about my workout session and start putting some blood, sweat, and tears at this gym!
